Writer Erica Jong joins Elisabeth Ladenson for a lively discussion about the French author Colette. Erica Jong is an American novelist and poet, whose reputation was first established with Fear of Flying, published in 1973, which created a sensation with its frank treatment of women's sexuality. She has since published more than twenty books, including novels, volumes of poetry, and essays. Her most recent novel is entitled Fear of Dying. She is a graduate of Barnard College and received an MA in 18th Century English Literature from Columbia University. Elisabeth Ladenson is a Professor of French at Columbia whose books include Proust's Lesbianism and Dirt for Art's Sake: Books on Trial from Madame Bovary to Lolita. She is currently writing a book about Colette.
