There are several student groups at Columbia with an interest in France and in French-American relations that sometimes organize student events at the Maison Française.

The French-American Alliance is a student group whose goal is to create a community around an original multicultural approach, on subjects ranging from the challenges faced by international organizations to the role of entertainment and sports industries, examining these issues from French, American and international perspectives. The association organizes informal social events and meetings with speakers drawn from a variety of domains, and these are sometimes held at the Maison Française. To find out more, visit their website

The French Cultural Society is open to undergraduates currently enrolled at Columbia University or one of its affiliates and sometimes meets at the Maison Française. The French Cultural Society's mission is to provide an informal yet supportive environment for students who value French language and culture and would like to interact with other students who share their interest. The group hosts movie nights, French-only discussions, and study breaks. Interested in joining? Visit the French Cultural Society's web site.

Le French Club gives students at Columbia Business School who are interested in the French language and culture an opportunity to network with students at Columbia and at other top U.S. business schools who share their interest. The Club is involved in organizing the French MBA Conference. To find out more, please contact Stephane Picard at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
